The essence of Iyengar yoga

Iyengar yoga is not a quest for perfection. It is a living art that brings us back to the essentials: presence, the intelligence of the body, clarity of mind, and the profound joy of simply being alive.

A living practice

Each posture becomes a moment of observation and conscious action.

Practice allows you to:

  • creating space where there is tension

  • regaining stability and clarity in imbalance

  • to support physical, emotional and mental balance

A practice for all seasons of life

Accessible and adaptable, Iyengar yoga accompanies different stages: stress, transitions, injuries or simply the need to refocus.

It offers concrete reference points for breathing, grounding, and moving forward more gently.

Transmit with intention

I teach a precise, accessible style of yoga that respects each individual's pace.

My intention is to support the development of strength, stability, body awareness and confidence — on the mat as in life.

Iyengar Yoga
Tradition & Lineage

Iyengar yoga takes its name from its founder, BKS Iyengar, born in 1918 in India. After a childhood marked by illness, he devoted his life to the study and practice of yoga, developing a precise, structured and accessible method, based on body alignment and the use of accessories.

This tradition has been enriched over time by the contributions of his family and closest students. His daughter, Geeta S. Iyengar, profoundly influenced the teaching, bringing a deep therapeutic sensitivity and a nuanced understanding of women's practice and the cycles of life. His son, Prashant S. Iyengar, continued the more subtle exploration of yoga, emphasizing the respiratory, mental, and introspective dimensions of the practice.

Today, this transmission continues with his granddaughter, Abhijata Iyengar, who represents the living continuity of this heritage within the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, the fundamental center for the teaching of Iyengar yoga founded by BKS Iyengar.

Thus, Iyengar yoga is part of a living lineage where the precision, discipline and depth of practice continue to be transmitted and adapted, while remaining faithful to its original essence.

Sometimes, what is experienced in the body also opens up spaces that can be explored in other ways.

Counselling can support this process by helping you make sense of your experiences and put words to what you're going through.

A complete experience, body and mind

A space to breathe, to ground oneself and to move forward with clarity and presence.
